F.A.Q.
WHAT KIND OF CHURCH IS JOURNEY?

Journey is a non-denominational church. We are distinctly Christian in our beliefs and doctrine. Click Here to read a statement of our beliefs. People who attend Journey come from a variety of denominational backgrounds and many did not grow up in church. We are a part of a network of churches here in Charlotte that allows us to partner together to plant new churches and impact the world.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO JOURNEY?

Anything . . . but please, be sure to wear something. Seriously though, people at Journey wear what is comfortable to them. Shorts, jeans, khakis, and even an occasional tie are worn each Sunday. What is casual to some may be different for others. So, we just say, come as you are & dress however you’d like.
HOW DID JOURNEY START?

The Journey Church you see today is the result of the merging of two churches in 2008; Charlotte North Fellowship & Journey Church. Through much grace and guidance, the two churches became one, simply to create a place where people could invite their friends to hear about Jesus.
WHAT WILL THE SERVICE BE LIKE?

We work hard to make sure that every Sunday Gathering is creative, relevant to your life, and, most importantly, celebrates Jesus. Our gatherings are typically 75 minutes long and include some great music from our Music Team, practical teaching, and other elements designed to help you grow in your relationship with God. Click Here to listen to messages or watch some videos from a typical gathering. Also, every week at the end of the 2nd service, we have a Live QnA where we answer questions you send in to include you in the conversation.
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

While you are in our Adult Gathering, your children are being well cared for in a safe environment we call KidStreet. At KidStreet, there are classes for all children birth through 4th grade. KidStreet is designed to not only engage your child’s faith & imagination, but to also help them learn that God made them, He loves them, and He wants to be their friend forever. To make your visit even easier, please Click Here and you can Plan Your Visit before you come!
HOW DO I GET THERE?

Our Huntersville Campus is located at 15711 Brookway Dr. (SOUTH of the Intersection of Sam Furr & Northcross Dr., directly WEST of Exit 25 on I77). You can Click Here for Google Map Directions.
DO YOU OFFER ANYTHING FOR STUDENTS?

YES! Journey Students is our student ministry which is comprised of The Garage (5th & 6th Graders) & The Path (7th-12th graders). The Garage meets on Sunday mornings during the 2nd service down at The Garage on the Huntersville campus. The Path meets on Sunday evenings from 6-7:30pm at Journey Church. There are also Life Groups, retreats, service opportunities, and activities going on year-round for our students. Feel free to contact our Student Programming Director, Chelsea Thompson for more information.
HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER OF JOURNEY?

Journey doesn’t have traditional church membership. Instead, we ask people to become Partners with our ministry, mission, & vision. First, we’d like to invite you to attend our next Discovering Journey gathering, where you’ll learn more about what Journey is all about and even meet all our staff. If you decide you would like to become an official Partner of Journey, then simply start doing what Partners at Journey do: Engage in Community, Find a Place to Volunteer, and Take Part in Giving. Click Here to learn more about Partnering at Journey.
WHAT IS THE LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE OF JOURNEY?

Journey has a simple leadership structure. The staff at Journey is responsible for the leadership of the day-to-day operations of the church. The church is governed by the Journey Advisory Team. The Advisory Team consists of staff and non-staff leaders, and it exists for the purpose of accountability and assistance to the staff in major decisions concerning personnel, properties, mission, doctrine, finances, and direction of Journey. Advisory Team members serve on a limited basis and member rotate regularly. Honestly, the ministry of Journey is really led by the many people who volunteer to lead teams and Life Groups every week.
