At Journey, we believe that Serving brings Purpose, and this is especially true when we take a step to serve those outside our own community. Journey Global Outreach, or Journey GO, is all about helping you to find a way that you can humbly point everyone to absolute Hope all across the world.
Journey GO has built their strategy around helping you to take a Step, a Jump, or a Leap with our three main areas of focus: West Virginia, Peru, & Kenya.
A good first step with Journey GO might be taking a trip with us to Central Appalachia (West Virginia) in the Spring or Fall. These trips typically include building relationships with people while proving some practical home repairs for families in need. In past trips, teams have built porches, reinforced roofs, and other home improvement projects these families desperately need.
These trips are typically 4-7 days long and happen in the Spring & Fall.
The next ASP Trip is happening in October 2017. Please check back soon for more info on this trip. Click Here to learn more about our partner in West Virginia.
Huánuco, Peru | Paz y Esperanza, Hovde House
Taking a Jump with Journey GO means taking a trip to Huánuco, Peru where we serve a group home for women and children who are victims of abuse. Our team comes alongside these women & children to support them by providing building maintenance and offering encouragement through building relationships with both residents and staff. Click Here for more information on the shelter.
These trips are typically a week long and take place in Late Summer.
The next Peru Trip is happening Saturday, August 5 thru Saturday, August 12, 2016. The cost of the trip is $1,950 and a deposit of $350 is required. Click Here to learn more about our partner in Peru.
Taking a Leap with Journey GO means taking a trip to Kilgoris, Kenya to partner with The Kilgoris Project, where the goal is to foster on-going relationships with locals. Teams take part in daily visits to one of the five TKP campuses, where team members prepare and share a lesson with the students there on a topic of their choosing, as everyone has something to share. Team members are also fully immersed in the Maasai culture during celebrations, home visits, and special events.
These trips are typically a week to two weeks long and take place a few times a year.
For info on the next Kenya trip, email our GO Director, Kelley Stopnik. The cost of the trip is $3500 and a deposit of $250 secures your spot on the trip. Click Here to learn more about our partner in Kenya.
