2014 was a BIG year for Journey.
We’ve seen incredible growth not only in attendance and generosity, but we’ve seen God do some incredible things through Global Outreach, in the Lake Norman Community, and even with our students at Journey. With as awesome as 2014 was, we’re going to see the seeds that were planted flourish in 2015.
We’ve had one of the best years our church has ever seen, but 2015 is setup to be even greater!
In 2015, we’re going to be taking even bigger steps forward to be the church God has called us to be. To humbly point everyone to absolute Hope. And we’re going to start right here in the Lake Norman Area, with those closest to us: our friends.
Everyone has a story, and everyone has the opportunity to be impacted by absolute Hope. In fact, God invites us to be a part of helping others’ stories come in contact with absolute Hope.
So in 2015, we want to think big and ask ourselves this question:
What if you saw every one of your friends stories changed by absolute Hope?
Think about it, how would things be different if you saw everyone one of your friends changed by absolute Hope?
I believe that we would see friends coming to faith in Jesus, friends becoming better parents and spouses, friends’ families learning how to grow in their faith together, friends finding ways to point others to absolute Hope.
Thinking about all of our friends stories being changed by absolute Hope may be difficult or even far fetched, but Jesus told us to ask for big things. Check this out:
John 14:12-14
“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!”
God has been so good to bring us to where we are now, but He has so much more for us. All we need to do is ask Him for it. We need to ask Him to change everyone of our friend’s stories with absolute Hope.
Lets be bold with our prayers in 2015, so that we can see God move in a way that won’t just change us, and won’t just change our friends, but will change the Lake Norman Area.
Come and celebrate with us and come and be challenged by the GREATER things God is calling us to.
