A Generous Life Campaign – End of Year Challenge
2016 marks a significant year for Journey Church. Last month we celebrated our First 15 Years as a church together, and we set a course for the Next 15!
As we close out 2016, I want to challenge all of us to finish strong and crush our end of year challenge. It’s called “The Generous Life” campaign. In December, we will be discussing the keys to living A Generous Life and the JOY that can only come through re-ordering our lives around the words Jesus spoke when He said “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
There are three parts to this year’s challenge. There is a call to GIVE, a challenge to GATHER, and an opportunity to GO.
GIVE: $175,000
The majority of this amount helps us make up our deficit and reach our Ministry & Mission budget for 2016. 20% of our goal is going to fund these 3 special projects, with more details coming in the next several weeks.
ASP Flood Relief Support – financially supporting our GO partners (Appalachia Service Project) who are rebuilding homes this winter that were devastated by the flooding last summer in West Virginia.
RePurpose – a community-focused HopeLKN venture that takes your donated, unused electronics and small appliances and repurposes them back to those in need in an affordable manner.
Denver Campus – as we prepare to launch in 2017, there are a few large ticket items we need to purchase to help launch our Denver Campus.
GATHER
RePurpose – collecting lightly used and unused electronics and small appliances (some large appliances).
Bags of Hope – collecting gift cards and food for our backpack program currently serving 2 local schools.
GO
We are asking 25 families to make a six-month commitment to help launch our Denver campus in 2017.
For those that consistently give through tithes and offerings at Journey, I can’t thank you enough for all that you’ve helped us accomplish in 2016. For the first time in 9 years you’ve helped us bring on a Youth Pastor full-time to humbly point the next generation to Jesus, and see their stories changed by absolute Hope. You’ve graciously sent me and my family on a highly beneficial sabbatical. You’ve supported our Cypress coaching group, helping minister to 50+ churches and 125 church leaders throughout North and South Carolina, as well as live streaming those sessions to Central America, Africa, and the Middle East. You continue to support our Global Outreach partners (ASP, Recovering Hope, TKP), and you’ve sent staff and partners to serve on trips.
Most importantly, you’ve helped create a church that humbly points everyone to the absolute Hope of Jesus Christ!
Thank You!
“The Generous Life” campaign is a BIG STRETCH GOAL for our church to Give, Gather, and Go. I believe we can do it!
