WHAT KIND OF CHURCH IS JOURNEY?

Journey is a non-denominational church. We are distinctly Christian in our beliefs and doctrine. Click Here to read a statement of our beliefs. People who attend Journey come from a variety of denominational backgrounds and many did not grow up in church. We are a part of a network of churches here in Charlotte that allows us to partner together to plant new churches and impact the world.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO JOURNEY?

Anything . . . but please, be sure to wear something.

Dad jokes aside, people at Journey wear what is comfortable to them. Shorts, jeans, khakis, and even an occasional tie are worn each Sunday. What is casual to some may be different for others. So, we just say, come as you are & dress however you’d like.

HOW DID JOURNEY START?

The Journey Church you see today is the result of the merging of two churches in 2008; Charlotte North Fellowship & Journey Church. Through much grace and guidance, the two churches became one, simply to create a place where people could invite their friends to hear about Jesus.

WHAT WILL THE SERVICE BE LIKE?

We work hard to make sure that every Sunday Gathering is creative, relevant to your life, and, most importantly, celebrates Jesus. Our gatherings are typically 75 minutes long and include some great music from our Music Team, practical teaching, and other elements designed to help you grow in your relationship with God.

WHAT IS THE LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE OF JOURNEY?

Journey has a simple leadership structure. The staff at Journey is responsible for the leadership of the day-to-day operations of the church. The church is governed by the Journey Advisory Team.

The Advisory Team consists of staff and non-staff leaders, and it exists for the purpose of accountability and assistance to the staff in major decisions concerning personnel, properties, mission, doctrine, finances, and direction of Journey.

Advisory Team members serve on a limited basis and member rotate regularly. Honestly, the ministry of Journey is really led by the many people who volunteer to lead teams and Groups every week.
